Contacts (address book)

In one sentence

Faxi keeps an address book for your parent. Save a person’s email address with their name and relationship (daughter, grandson, doctor), and your parent can email them by name alone.

The problem it solves

Remembering email addresses, or copying them out correctly by hand, is hard. Saved once, your parent only ever writes “email my daughter.”

Two ways to add and manage contacts

You, online

From the family dashboard (portal.faxi.jp) you can add and edit contacts accurately — no typos, so it’s the most reliable. The dashboard is available by invitation (→ Family dashboard).

Your parent, by fax

• Add: “Add contact: Tanaka Miki, miki@example.com, daughter”
• Add just by emailing: email someone new with their address included, and they’re saved automatically.
• See the list: “Show my contacts” or “Address book”
• Change or delete: “Change Tanaka’s email” / “Delete Tanaka”
• Add several: up to 10 on one page
• Registration form: write “Send me a contact registration form” for a page with grid boxes that make addresses easy to write clearly.

After adding, Faxi faxes back the address it detected — please check it.

What you can save

Name / email address / relationship (daughter, grandson, doctor) / notes (e.g. lives in Osaka). Relationships and notes make people easier to find later.

Works with spam protection

• Mail from people in the address book is delivered normally.
• Mail from unknown senders is spam-checked; safe ones arrive with a note of who sent it, and spam is blocked silently.

Cost

Managing the address book is free. Online management needs a family dashboard account (by invitation).

How you can help

• Up front, save the few people they’ll use most — family, and their doctor.
• For hard-to-copy addresses like distant relatives, add them online so there are no mistakes.
